Ioniq Engine Stalling At Idle
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Hyundai Ioniq hybrid owner experienced engine stalling at idle, with a check engine light indicating an idle air control (IAC) valve issue. The suspected cause was a contaminated intake affecting the IAC valve's function. Another individual with a similar problem confirmed that a dirty air intake was the culprit, leading to the recommendation of professional inspection and repair. Following this advice, the intake was cleaned, and the IAC valve was replaced, resolving the issue.

I tried cleaning it myself at first, but it was pretty gunked up. Eventually, I took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the intake and replaced the IAC valve. Cost me around 425€. Save yourself the headache and get it checked by a pro.

Following the advice, I took my Ioniq to a workshop. After inspection, they confirmed that the intake was heavily contaminated, leading to the failure of the IAC valve. The valve was replaced, and the intake was cleaned. The total cost was 425€, but the issue has been resolved. Thank you again for your support!

I had a similar issue with my Ioniq a while back. Same symptoms: check engine light, stalling at idle. Turned out to be a dirty air intake messing with the IAC valve. Might be worth checking out thoroughly.
