Ioniq Undervoltage Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid is experiencing undervoltage issues, characterized by labored starts, intermittent system failures, and weak or flickering lights. Possible causes include problems with the voltage regulator, low voltage, the charging system, or the alternator. A similar case suggested checking the battery voltage with a multimeter and focusing on the battery and charging system for diagnosis. The issue was ultimately identified as a defective battery, which was resolved by replacement.

Thanks! I haven't tested the battery voltage with a multimeter yet. How did you approach the diagnosis with your Astra? Did you focus on battery voltage, or did you also check other charging system components like the alternator?

In my case, the problem was a defective battery. After checking the voltage, I immediately went to the workshop, where they confirmed the problem. I advise you to do the same; they can help you better.

Thanks for the advice. I'll schedule a workshop appointment for a comprehensive electrical system assessment, focusing on the battery and charging system. The issue was indeed the battery and cost me 290€ to replace. Thanks again for the insights.

I had a similar experience with my 2018 Opel Astra. My car showed similar symptoms like yours: weak lights, and the engine started poorly. Have you checked the battery voltage using a multimeter? Maybe it's a problem with the charging system.
