Irregular shifting and noises in the 2007 Peugeot 4007 DieselHello everyone, I have recently started having problems with my 2007 Peugeot 4007 Diesel, which already has 160060 km on the clock. The gearbox is slipping and shifting erratically, there is a grinding noise when shifting and a whine or grind can also be heard. Have had bad experiences with a mechanic in the past so I'm concerned. I think it could be due to a malfunction of the torque converter lockup clutch. Has anyone had similar experiences and can report how it went at the mechanic? Many thanks in advance!

Hi, sure, no problem! So, the repair of the automatic gearbox converter cost me €2120. Not exactly cheap, but everything has been tip-top ever since. And as you rightly suspected, the problem with the malfunction of the torque converter lock-up clutch was also fixed. Since the visit to the mechanic, everything has been running like clockwork again! So, don't get too stressed. Just make sure you have a good mechanic on hand. Good luck with that!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2010 Peugeot 5008 diesel. It was quite a serious problem for me as the car just wouldn't shift properly and had similar symptoms. It turned out that the automatic transmission converter was faulty. My experience at the garage was pretty straightforward. The guys identified the fault pretty quickly. They simply had to remove the automatic transmission converter and fit a new one. After that, the car ran like clockwork again. It was definitely not something I could have fixed myself. So, I would recommend you take it to a reliable garage quickly. It definitely needs a professional hand. Good luck with it!
