Irregularities in Toyota LandCruiser 2011: engine problems and increased fuel consumption

Hello folks! I need your advice. My Toyota LandCruiser from 2011 with an average of 181296 KM on the speedometer has been acting up lately. Indicator light on, engine randomly stalls, feels weak, stutters when accelerating and fuel consumption has also increased. I once had a similar problem and it was traced back to the throttle potentiometer. Now I'm wondering if I have the same problem again? Have any of you experienced this before and what was your experience with the mechanic? I don't want to go through the same drama as last time! Thanks for your tips and advice in advance!

Hi, experienced the same trouble with my 2014 Toyota Hilux. It showed similar symptoms. After my mechanic went through it, it came out that the internal mechanics of the throttle body was faulty. It was actually a serious thing because the car became unpredictable, which can be dangerous when driving. They had to replace the entire throttle body as it was not practical to repair it. It definitely breathed new life into my car, has been running like clockwork ever since. Hope this helps!

Hey, thanks for the feedback! Sounds like this could really be my problem. Do you remember how much the whole thing ended up costing you in repair costs at the mechanic? And did you encounter any other problems after the repair? I really don't want a nasty surprise...

Hey, sure, no problem! I paid €345 to repair the internal mechanics of the throttle valve. It wasn't exactly cheap, but since then the problem with the throttle potentiometer is history. Since the visit to the mechanic, I've had no further problems - the car is now running like clockwork again. So cheer up, after that your car should run smoothly again. Good luck!

Hey, that's very helpful info, thanks a lot! This is pretty expensive, but if it helps make my ride safe and trouble free again, I think it's definitely worth it. I'll get my mechanic on it asap and hopefully have a similarly good experience. Thanks again for your help and fingers crossed that all goes well!
