Hey! This really hits close to home, I went through the same kinda thing with my 2019 Frontier. It's uncanny how similar our issues are! Replacing the ignition slot did the trick for me too. But hey, not to dig too deep into your wallet or anything, but do you remember what the damage was in terms of cost? And since fixing it, has anything else come up? Asking because I'd rather not be caught off guard if more issues are bound to pop up. Cheers for sharing your experience though!

Hey, Absolutely, happy to share the details! So, after a couple of diagnostic tests and services, the mechanic figured out that the Ignition key Hall sensor was the little devil causing all the trouble. It wasn't reading the key right, hence the light party on the dash and the vehicle doing its own 'locked in / locked out' dance. Now, in terms of damage to my wallet, when they mentioned replacing the faulty Insertion slot, I definitely had to brace myself for that. The cost for fixing it came out to be around 290 Euro, and boy, was I glad when that settled everything. Since getting it fixed, I haven't noticed any similar issues or any others for that matter. She's been running pretty smooth, knock on wood. Hope that puts you at ease a bit. It's just one of those things with modern cars, eh? Good luck with yours, and fingers crossed you don't run into anything too unexpected! All the best!

Thanks for the further info, guys. I was guessing it'd be in that ballpark for replacing the ignition hall sensor. Seems like it's a common enough issue to warrant fixing fast! I'm going to bite the bullet and take it to the mechanic this week - sick and tired of the flashing warning light staring at me. This brings back memories of my last time at the mechanic's. The repair wasn't the best, but hey, they did manage to fix the problem, and I trust they'll be able to handle this one with ease. Fingers crossed. I just hope I'm not hit with any extra surprises! Definitely put me at ease, though. Cheers for all the advice! I'll get back to you guys once I get this sorted out. Happy and safe driving to all!

Hey there, Honestly, it sounds pretty similar to an issue I had with my 2018 Nissan Navara Diesel not too long ago. I'm no car guru, but it turned out to be a problem with the Insertion slot - just as you suspected. One week the car was throwing fancy disco light parties on the dashboard and locking and unlocking as if it had a mind of its own. I couldn't even get it to start up once or twice. My mechanic said it was a common issue and tackled it right off the bat; nothing to panic about for sure. They had to replace the entire ignition slot, it was faulty and wasn't recognizing the key correctly. It sorted everything out - the starting issue, locking, and that pesky warning light. Keep in mind this was after a good amount of diagnostic work, pretty straightforward though. Hope this helps, we've all had our fair share of garage nightmares, haven't we? Best of luck with it!
