So, after a couple of diagnostic tests and services, the mechanic figured out that the Ignition key Hall sensor was the little devil causing all the trouble. It wasn't reading the key right, hence the light party on the dash and the vehicle doing its own 'locked in / locked out' dance. Now, in terms of damage to my wallet, when they mentioned replacing the faulty Insertion slot, I definitely had to brace myself for that. The cost for fixing it came out to be around 290 Euro, and boy, was I glad when that settled everything. Since getting it fixed, I haven't noticed any similar issues or any others for that matter.
