ix20 Oil Pressure Warning Light

My 2010 Hyundai ix20 with a gasoline engine has 144690 km. The oil pressure warning lamp lights up, and there's a warning light in the speedometer. Diagnostics show an engine oil temperature sensor error. Could a bad cable or plug be the cause, or is it something worse?

Summary of the thread

A 2010 Hyundai ix20 owner reports an oil pressure warning light and an engine oil temperature sensor error. The issue could stem from a faulty cable or plug connection. A similar case was resolved by fixing a defective connection, suggesting that checking and repairing the wiring might be a practical solution.

I had similar symptoms in my ix20, weirdly enough. The oil gauge acted up, and I saw the warning light flickering. Did you check the sensor itself, or just the error code?

Thanks! I haven't checked the sensor directly, just pulled the error code. Did you end up replacing the sensor, or was it a wiring issue?

I hoped it would be a simple fix, but I brought it to a workshop I trust. They said it was a defective connection, like you suspected. It cost around 95€ including parts and labor. Hope that helps!

That's helpful, thank you! I'll bring it to a workshop to have them check the cable and plug. Hopefully, it will be a similar fix. I appreciate you sharing your experience; it puts my mind at ease!
