ix35 Transmission Oil Pressure Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Hyundai ix35 diesel with only 20,056 km is experiencing transmission oil pressure sensor fault symptoms, including an engine warning light, error code, emergency mode, slipping, unclean shifts, and grinding noises. Diagnostics suggest a low gearbox oil level as a potential cause. The solution involved checking and topping up the gearbox oil level and replacing the faulty sensor, resolving the issue.

When you had those symptoms, were they directly tied to the sensor itself, or just a general drop in oil pressure? Did replacing the sensor alone fix it, or did you need to investigate the oil pressure circuit further?

In my case, the sensor was faulty, but low oil level was the main problem and probably caused the sensor fault. I'd get your gearbox oil level checked at a workshop ASAP. Too complex to DIY, I think.

Turns out the fault was indeed low oil level. Needed a top-up and sensor replacement. Total cost was 365€. Thanks for the help.

Sounds familiar. My ix35 behaved similarly a while back. The issue was connected to the oil pressure circuit, if I remember correctly. Did you check the oil pressure using an external pressure gauge? Might give you a clearer picture than just the sensor.
