Jazz Camshaft Sensor Issue

Alright gurus, need some help! My 2013 Honda Jazz hybrid is playing up. Got 203,000 km on the clock. Lately, it's been starting really rough, sometimes stalls at idle, and the check engine light is mocking me from the dash. Suspect it might be the camshaft sensor giving me grief – maybe the encoder wheel on the camshafts is buggered? Anyone else seen this kind of thing?

Sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms on my Jazz (not sure on the year, sorry). Rough start, engine randomly cutting out… nightmare! Check engine light was on too. What codes are you getting?

Hey! Thanks for the quick reply. I hooked it up to a reader and it's throwing a P0340 code - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction. Is that what you were getting too?

Yep, P0340 was the one. Pretty sure it's a faulty camshaft sensor. I tried cleaning mine, but no luck. Ended up taking it to a workshop. They confirmed it was a defective camshaft sensor and replaced it.

Cheers! Sounds like I'm heading to the workshop then. The workshop confirmed the camshaft sensor was toast, probably the encoder wheel. They replaced it, cost me 695€ all in, but she's running smooth as silk now. Thanks again!
