Jazz fog sensor issues

I'm having a weird issue with my 2023 Honda Jazz hybrid. It's got about 177,000 km on the clock. I'm getting this error related to the fog sensor. It's causing a bunch of other problems too – the AC won't turn on, the windshield washer nozzles seem frozen even when it's not that cold, and the mirror heating isn't working either! I've checked the obvious stuff like fuses, but no luck. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Honda Jazz hybrid experienced issues with the fog sensor, leading to problems with the AC, windshield washer nozzles, and mirror heating. The likely cause was identified as a connection issue, possibly involving the wiring harness near the auto-defogging sensor. The suggested solution was to inspect for loose or corroded connections. Ultimately, a professional repair identified and fixed a defective cable/plug connection to the sensor, resolving the issue.

Sounds like a dodgy sensor alright. When you say 'fog sensor', is that the one connected to the windshield for auto-defogging? The symptoms all being electrical points to a connection issue, especially with multiple systems failing. Worth checking the wiring harness around that sensor for any obvious damage or loose plugs.

Yeah, that's the one! The auto-defogging thing. So, wiring harness... where exactly is that located? I'm not the most mechanically gifted, but I can poke around a bit if I know where to look. And what am I looking for, exactly? Just loose connections?

Okay, so the harness will likely be routed near the base of the rearview mirror, where that sensor is usually located. Look for a multi-pin connector. 'Loose' is the key thing – give each wire a gentle wiggle to see if anything feels unstable. Also, check for corroded pins; greenish dust is a giveaway. But honestly, with all those systems affected, and since it's a hybrid, that might require a professional diagnostic check. It could be a broader CAN bus issue, and those are a pain to troubleshoot without the proper tools.

Thanks for the advice! I checked the wiring and didn't see anything obvious, so I took it to the shop. Turns out it was a defective cable/plug connection to the sensor, like you said. They fixed it for 95€. Annoying, but at least it's sorted!
