Jeep Wagoneer Air Suspension Causes Uneven Ride

My Jeep Wagoneer 2022 (48k km) has been giving me trouble with the ride height lately. The front sits noticeably lower than the rear, and the headlights are pointing downward. Warning lights keep showing up on the dash, and the ride feels unusually bumpy. Pretty sure its the air suspension or leveling system acting up. Has anyone dealt with similar issues? Looking for advice before heading back to a mechanic, as my last experience wasnt great. What should I look out for and what kind of repair costs should I expect?

Had a similar suspension issue with my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2021. The height sensor malfunction caused uneven ride height, with symptoms matching yours, low front end and misaligned headlights. The air suspension warning kept appearing on the dashboard. The root cause was a faulty control rod connected to the height sensor. The constant up-down movement had worn out the connection points, preventing accurate height measurements. This caused the leveling system to receive incorrect readings, leading to improper height adjustment. This is a serious issue that needs immediate attention, as it affects vehicle stability and safety. The uneven weight distribution can accelerate wear on other suspension components. The repair involved: replacing the control rod assembly, recalibrating the height sensors, testing the air suspension system, verifying proper leveling system operation If left unaddressed, this could lead to complete air suspension failure. Recommend having it checked by a certified technician who specializes in air suspension systems. For temporary relief, try using the suspension lift button to reset the system, but this is not a long-term solution.

Thanks for sharing your experience. That sounds exactly like what I am experiencing with my Wagoneer right now. Before I head to the shop, would you mind telling me roughly how much you paid for all those repairs? Also curious if you have had any other suspension-related problems since getting it fixed? The load sensor issue is really starting to worry me, especially since the air suspension keeps acting up during longer drives. The front ride height drops noticeably after about an hour on the road.

After seeing my mechanic, the Height control restricted warning is completely gone. The control module was getting incorrect signals due to a defective control rod on the leveling sensor. The repair was straightforward and cost 110 Euro total. The air suspension is working perfectly now, no more sagging front end or headlight misalignment. The ride is smooth and level, even on longer trips. The load sensor and height sensor are both functioning as they should. Have not experienced any suspension issues in the 6 months since the repair. The fix was definitely worth it to restore proper functionality to the air suspension system. Would recommend getting yours checked soon before other components get affected. A proper diagnosis by a technician who understands these systems is key. They can verify if your symptoms match what mine were and prevent more extensive damage to the suspension components.

Thanks for the input. Finally got my Wagoneer fixed last week. The mechanic confirmed it was indeed the height sensor causing the air suspension problems. The whole front suspension was out of alignment due to the faulty sensor readings. The repair involved replacing both front height sensors and recalibrating the load sensor system. Parts and labor came to 380 Euro. More than I wanted to spend, but the ride quality is completely different now. The front end stays level even after hours of driving. No more warning lights on the dash and the headlights are properly aligned again. The automotive suspension system is working like new, no more bumpy rides or sagging issues. The mechanic mentioned regular cleaning of the height sensors could help prevent future problems. Will definitely keep an eye on the ride height readings from now on. Overall relieved to have this sorted before it caused damage to other suspension components.
