Jumper Generator Issue

I had a similar problem with my Jumper. Check the serpentine belt tension first, but with those symptoms, especially the warning light and starting issues, it does sound like the alternator. How old is your battery?

The battery is original, so from 2018. Serpentine belt seems fine, proper tension and no visible damage. Could a failing battery cause the generator to fail, or is it more likely the generator itself is the culprit?

A failing battery can put extra strain on the charging system, but given all the symptoms, including the error code and flickering lights, a defective generator is the most probable cause. I'd recommend getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop. I ended up needing a complete alternator replacement.
