Jumpy Alarm System Failure

My 2006 Citroen Jumpy with a gasoline engine is acting up. The additional battery alarm system seems dead. The dash flashes an error, and my reader confirms an alarm system issue but gives no details. I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. Could it be a dead aux battery, even though the van starts fine? Mileage is around 220212 km.

I had a similar problem with my Jumpy. It was the auxiliary battery for the alarm system. It was so old it wouldn't hold a charge anymore, triggering the alarm error. Does your alarm system work at all, or is it completely unresponsive?

It's totally unresponsive. When you say similar problem, do you mean the same symptoms - error code and no alarm function? Did replacing the battery solve it completely?

Yep, same symptoms. Error stored, alarm system completely dead. Replacing the aux battery sorted it. Though, I'd still recommend getting it checked at a workshop to be 100% sure.

I suspected as much. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. The auxiliary battery was discharged due to age. New battery and all is good. Cost me 330€, but at least the alarm works now. Appreciate the help!
