Interesting. Which specific cable and plug connections are you referring to? I'm not really a mechanic, so any specifics would be super helpful. Also, was your error message the same, or were there any specific diagnostic trouble codes?

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure which one it was, but I remember the mechanic saying it was a defective cable or plug connection. The likely cause was a wiring issue. I'd advise taking it to a workshop for a proper check. It's probably a defective data link.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a local shop, and you were spot on. Turns out it was a faulty connection causing the communication error and the overheating. They replaced the dodgy wiring, and all seems good now. Repair cost me 95€, not too bad. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had similar overheating problems with my Jumpy. Check engine light and coolant loss too. My diagnostics also showed a control unit communication error. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the components? That's where my problem was.
