Jumpy Undervoltage Error

My 2006 Citroen Jumpy with a gasoline engine is showing an undervoltage error. Symptoms include poor starting, system failures, weak lights, and a weak battery when starting. Mileage is 226236 km. I suspect a heavily discharged or defective battery. Any thoughts?

I had similar issues on my Jumpy. Check the battery health first. Also, look for a voltage drop somewhere. Could be a faulty charging system or voltage regulator, leading to the battery not charging correctly. How old is your battery?

Battery is fairly new - only 1 year old. Where exactly should I be testing for this voltage drop you mentioned?

Okay, one-year-old battery should still be good. By voltage drop, I mean checking the voltage at various points in the charging system. Start at the alternator output, then at the battery terminals, and check the voltage with the engine running. If you're not comfortable doing that, it's best to take it to a workshop.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I ended up going to a workshop. Turns out the battery was defective despite being new. Replacement cost 290€.
