Jumpy Uneven Engine Jerking

My 2006 Citroen Jumpy with a gasoline engine is running unevenly, the check engine light is on, and there's a jerking sensation during acceleration at 166,177 kilometers. Could an exhaust leak be the cause, or should I check the crankshaft, oxygen sensors, or fuel injectors? The rough idle and misfire are concerning.

Hey, I had something similar with my Jumpy. Check engine light and jerky acceleration sound familiar. For me it was a small crack in the exhaust manifold. Made the engine run like crap.

Could you provide more specific details regarding the crack in the exhaust manifold and how you pinpointed it? Was it readily visible, or did it require specialized diagnostic equipment to identify?

Honestly, I couldn't see it myself. Took it to a workshop, and they found it pretty quick. It was on the underside, so hard to spot. Best bet is to get it smoke tested; they'll find any leaks that way. Could be something else, but exhaust leak sounds like a good place to start.

Following your recommendation, I had the exhaust system inspected. A leak was discovered, and after repairs costing 265€, the uneven engine running and jerking have stopped. Your suggestion resolved the issue.
