Thank you for your input. I will check the throttle body. Could you clarify how a dirty throttle body could specifically lead to higher fuel consumption and starting issues in a diesel engine?

Yes, because the control valve regulates the air intake. A buildup of carbon deposits restricts airflow, so the engine control unit compensates by injecting more fuel. If it persists, you will need to go to the workshop.

Thank you for confirming. After checking and cleaning it, the problem persisted. I took it to a workshop; the throttle valve was indeed defective. The repair cost was 205€.

I had similar symptoms with my Kadjar. I would check the throttle body first. Is it dirty? A dirty throttle body can mimic a defective valve, causing poor airflow and those exact symptoms. Has the engine warning light come on?
