Kadjar Engine Overheating
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Renault Kadjar diesel with 203,339 km is experiencing engine overheating, a check engine light, and coolant leakage, likely due to excessive pressure in the cooling system. The issue may stem from a control unit communication error, possibly caused by a faulty cable or plug connection. A similar case involved a software glitch in the control module, requiring replacement after a reflash failed. It is suggested to inspect all connections or consult a workshop for a thorough check.

No, no recent work that I can remember. What was your fix? Do you remember what the diagnostic trouble code was?

Mine turned out to be a software glitch in the control module causing miscommunication between sensors. A reflash didn't fix it, had to get the unit replaced. If you suspect a defective connection it could be the same root cause as mine but a different manifestation. You could try to check all connections, but I'd just get it checked by a workshop. It cost me about 95€.

Thanks for the insight! I'll get it checked out by a mechanic. I appreciate the help.

Sounds familiar. I had something like that with my Kadjar too. Was there any recent work done on the car? Perhaps around the engine bay?
