Kadjar GPS Antenna Fault

I've got a 2019 Renault Kadjar with a gasoline engine and I'm facing a frustrating GPS issue. The navigation system consistently fails to acquire a satellite connection, and the error memory shows a fault related to the GPS antenna. I suspect the antenna itself is defective. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar problem with my old BMW 3 series. The symptoms were identical - navigation couldn't find a signal, and it turned out to be the GPS antenna. In these systems, the GPS antenna is usually located under the shark fin on the roof. Before you replace it, have you checked the antenna cable connection to the head unit? Sometimes, that can come loose.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the cable connection yet. Where exactly is the head unit located in the Kadjar? And is it easily accessible, or do I need special tools to get to it?

Okay, so on the BMW it was behind the main display screen in the dashboard, requiring a bit of trim removal. I'm not 100% sure on the Kadjar, but it's likely in a similar spot. Honestly, unless you're comfortable with car electronics, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. A faulty GPS antenna replacement shouldn't cost too much; I reckon around 200€.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I'll skip the DIY attempt and take it to a local mechanic. 200€ sounds reasonable. I appreciate the help!
