Kadjar Transmission Control Issue

I'm writing about a potential issue with my 2019 Renault Kadjar gasoline model, around 108667 km on the clock. Shifting isn't possible using the paddle shifters, the gearbox slips and shifts uncleanly. I hear grinding during gear changes, and the paddle shifters are slow to respond. The gearbox occasionally enters emergency mode, and an error is consistently stored. Could this be a transmission control issue?

That sounds remarkably similar to a problem I encountered with my Kadjar some time ago. Were you ever able to shift normally and then this happened suddenly? Does it feel like the car is stuck in one gear sometimes, or refuses to go into gear at all? Transmission problems are never fun, and it definitely sounds like it could be electronic.

Thanks for the response. To answer, yes, the issue arose somewhat suddenly, although I had noticed the shifting becoming slightly less smooth in the weeks prior. And yes, there have been instances where the car seems to be stuck in a particular gear. Did you experience the same?

Yes, that is precisely what occurred with my vehicle. Based on your description, it seems highly probable that the transmission control unit is indeed the source of the problem. I would advise against attempting any self-repairs; a visit to a qualified workshop is highly recommended. The repairs will likely be costly (mine were around 1000€), but it will resolve the issue and prevent further damage to the transmission.

I appreciate your confirmation and advice. I will schedule an appointment with a reputable workshop to diagnose and address the transmission control unit issue. I understand that the repair cost may be substantial, but it is a necessary measure to ensure the vehicle's proper functioning and longevity. Thanks again for your time and insights.
