Kangoo crankcase ventilation issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Renault Kangoo diesel exhibited symptoms of a check engine light, power loss, smoke during acceleration, and rough idling. These issues were suspected to be related to the crankcase ventilation system, specifically a potential problem with the PCV valve. The solution involved replacing the faulty crankcase ventilation valve, which resolved the performance issues.

Rough idle, yes! How did you figure it out, and what did you do to fix it?

Pretty sure it's the crankcase ventilation valve. If the engine is struggling like that I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. If it is the valve, expect to pay around 360€.

Thanks so much for the help! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on – the crankcase ventilation valve needed replacing. Runs like a dream now!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Kangoo. Symptoms sound the same. Is it also idling a bit rough? It could be a leak in the crankcase ventilation system. The PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve can cause those problems when it fails. It's part of the engine's emissions control, routing gases from the crankcase back into the intake.
