Kangoo engine overheating slow warmup

Hi, I've got a 2023 Renault Kangoo with a gasoline engine. I'm experiencing some engine overheating and it's taking ages to warm up. The mileage is at 186248 km. Could this be a thermostat issue? I've checked the coolant level, and it seems fine, so I don't think it's a coolant leak.

Sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms with my Kangoo. Did you check the thermostat housing for any signs of damage or leaks? Or maybe the water pump?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the thermostat housing specifically, but I will now. Is it possible that a defective map thermostat could cause these issues? I am not sure where it is located. Any pointers?

Yep, a defective map thermostat is often the culprit in these cases. It's worth checking, but honestly, given the symptoms, I'd recommend getting it checked by a workshop. Could save you a headache.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right, it was the thermostat. Repair cost me 350€. Appreciate the help!
