Kangoo Idle Stalling

I'm having trouble with my 2022 Renault Kangoo, gasoline engine. At 187997 km, the check engine light came on, and it shows an idle air control valve error. The engine stalls when idling. I think it might be a dirty intake. Has anyone else had this happen? What did you do?

Hey! I have a Kangoo too, though it's a bit older. Your problem sounds really familiar. I had the same thing happen – check engine light, rough idle, and stalling. Did you check the throttle body for carbon buildup? That's what it was for me.

How bad was the carbon buildup? Did you try cleaning it yourself, or did you take it to a mechanic? Did the contamination affect any other sensors or parts?

The carbon was pretty bad, a thick, black layer. I tried cleaning it myself with throttle body cleaner, but it didn't completely fix it. I ended up taking it to a shop. They said they had to adjust the idle speed after cleaning. It cost me around 425€ for everything. I'd get it checked out by a professional to be safe.

Thanks for the advice! I think I'll go to a mechanic, just in case. I'll make an appointment with a good workshop to get it checked out. Your experience really helped. Thanks again!
