Kangoo oil pressure warning light
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Renault Kangoo with a diesel engine displayed an oil pressure warning light, likely due to engine oil contamination from exceeding the maintenance interval. The oil appeared darker than usual, indicating contamination. The suggested solution was a full oil change, including replacing the engine oil and oil filter, which successfully resolved the issue.

Thanks for the info! The oil color does seem darker than usual. How did you resolve the contamination issue with your Astra?

Yeah, dark oil is a telltale sign. With the Astra, the contamination was bad enough that I didn't want to risk further damage. I took it to a workshop. They did a full oil change (new engine oil and oil filter) and checked everything else was still fine. It sorted the problem immediately and the lights disappeared. Considering the mileage of your Kangoo, I would suggest going to the workshop, too.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I took your advice and went to the workshop. As you predicted, an oil change (new engine oil and oil filter) resolved the issue. The final bill was 165€. Appreciate your help!

Hey there! I had something similar happen with my old Opel Astra a few years back. Same symptoms: oil pressure light and warning light popping up. In my case, it turned out the engine oil was heavily contaminated. Was the oil color unusual when you checked it? If the maintenance interval is exceeded, the engine oil and oil filter won't work as they should and the oil can become contaminated, causing the lights to appear.
