Kangoo Tailgate Hall Sensor Error
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Renault Kangoo diesel owner experienced issues with the tailgate not opening fully, accompanied by an error indicating a problem with the hall sensor circuit. The error was constant, suggesting a potential issue with the wiring or connections. Advice from another individual pointed to the likelihood of a broken wire or bad connection, particularly where the wires bend between the body and the tailgate. The problem was confirmed to be a defective cable connection, which was resolved at a workshop.

The error seems to be constant. I haven't had a chance to really dig into the wiring yet. Is there a common spot where the wiring fails?

Okay, if it's constant, it's probably a broken wire or a bad connection. On my Astra, it was right where the wires go from the body to the tailgate – they bend a lot there. Electrical stuff can be a pain to diagnose. If you're not comfortable with wiring, it might be worth getting it checked out at a shop.

Thanks for the info. I'll check the wiring there, but I think you're right about getting it looked at. Just got back from the workshop, and they confirmed it was a defective cable connection. Cost me 95€ to repair. Thanks again!

Hey! I had a similar problem with my Opel Astra. It turned out to be faulty sensor wiring. Is the error constantly there, or does it come and go?
