Kicks exhaust temperature sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Nissan Kicks with high mileage is experiencing a check engine light, reduced engine power, and increased fuel consumption. Diagnostics indicate a faulty exhaust temperature sensor, which may be linked to a potential exhaust system leak. A similar case revealed that a small crack in the exhaust manifold was the actual issue, triggering the sensor. Repairing the manifold resolved the problem, restoring normal vehicle performance.

Temperature fluctuation, you say? I recall seeing some inconsistent readings from the heat sensor, yes. But what does that say about the source of the problem really?

That confirms what I suspected. I had a similar issue, and while the sensor was flagging, the actual culprit was a small crack in the exhaust manifold. Get it checked at a reliable workshop, that sensor replacement will be 265€, it's not worth doing it yourself.

Thanks a lot for the insight! I took it to my local trusted workshop, and you were spot on. Small crack in the exhaust manifold triggered the sensor. 265€ later, all sorted and running smoothly again.

Reduced engine power and check engine light? Sounds familiar. I own a Kicks as well. Did you happen to notice any temperature fluctuation readings during diagnostics, especially unusual spikes?
