Kicks mirror heating issue

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2022 Nissan Kicks (gasoline engine). The mirror heating isn't working at all. Both side mirrors, nothing. I've checked the fuses and they seem fine. Plus, I'm getting an error code stored, which is super annoying. It's got 134595 km on the clock. Any ideas before I take it to the shop?

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Nissan Kicks owner experienced a problem with the mirror heating not functioning, despite checking the fuses. A stored error code suggested a deeper issue. A suggestion was made to inspect the wiring and connectors, as a loose or corroded connection could be the cause. After taking the vehicle to a shop, it was confirmed that a defective cable or plug connection was the issue, which was then repaired.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had a similar issue with my old 2018 Opel Astra. Mirror heating just died. First, have you checked the wiring and connectors going to the mirrors? A loose or corroded connection is a common cause, and it'll trigger a fault code even if the heater element itself is fine. Worth a quick look before you start throwing money at it.

Yeah, I gave the wires a wiggle, but didn't see anything obvious. Where exactly should I be looking for the connectors? Are they inside the door panel or somewhere else?

On my Astra, the connector was inside the door panel, near the mirror mounting point. You'll need to carefully pry off the interior door panel to access it. Given the error code and your symptoms, it really does sound like a faulty connection. However, considering you've already tried a basic wiggle test, and to avoid any damage, it might be best to let a workshop diagnose it. It could be a short circuit or a broken wire that's not immediately visible.

Thanks! I took your advice and brought it to the shop. Turns out it was a defective cable or plug connection, just like you said! They fixed it for around 95€. Appreciate the help!
