Kix Windshield Washer Heater Fault

My 2009 Nissan Kix, gasoline engine, is giving me grief. The windshield washer heater seems to be on the fritz. Got an error stored, and at these freezing temps, the nozzles are just blocked solid. I'm thinking it's probably a dodgy connection somewhere, but haven't had the chance to rip it apart yet with work.

That's a bummer. I had a similar issue with my old Audi A4, but a different brand. Are you sure the nozzles themselves aren't just clogged? Have you tried using a needle or something similar to clear them out? It could save you a lot of hassle if it's just a simple blockage before you start chasing electrical gremlins.

I appreciate the thought! I tried cleaning the nozzles already, but they are definitely frozen solid and nothing is coming out. It seems more like the heater element isn't doing its job. Do you remember any specifics about how you fixed your Audi? Was it a broken wire or something?

Okay, if you've already cleared the nozzles then it is likely to be a heater malfunction. In my Audi A4 it was indeed a corroded connector, but the heater element itself was also broken and I had to replace it. Given the stored error message, and the heater is not working, I'd strongly suggest taking it to a workshop to get it checked out by a professional. You could cause more problems, and without the right equipment it'll be difficult to know what the problem actually is.

Thanks for the input. I took it to my local garage as you suggested. Turns out the cable for the heater was defective like I suspected. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. At least the nozzles are working now.
