Koleos AdBlue Issue Resolved

I've got a 2019 Renault Koleos, diesel engine, that's throwing an AdBlue tank empty error. Diagnostic tool confirms the issue, and now the engine won't start. I suspect the AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit is defective. Does that sound right? Repair costs around 250€ sound plausible?

That sounds incredibly frustrating! I had a similar issue with my BMW 3 series, although mine was petrol. The dashboard was flashing with service lights, all pointing to emission control issues. Could it be a faulty injection system? Did you notice any other symptoms besides the error message and the engine not starting, like changes in fuel consumption or weird smells?

Weird smells? No, not really. Fuel consumption seems normal, at least until it refused to start altogether. You mentioned a faulty injection system on your BMW...was that related to the AdBlue system somehow, even though it was a gasoline engine?

Yes, absolutely! The root cause was the injection system! Even though it wasn't directly linked to AdBlue (since yours is diesel), the symptoms you described – service light, dashboard alerts, and eventual no-start situation – are eerily similar to what I experienced. Given your expertise and the cost you mentioned, I think you have a good handle on the situation. Consulting a workshop would be beneficial to confirm your diagnosis.

Appreciate the input. Confirmed: it was indeed the AdBlue tank/pump assembly. Replaced it, cleared the codes, and we're back in business. 250€ was spot on.
