Koleos diesel engine issues

My 2018 Renault Koleos diesel is having issues. The check engine light is on, power is down, and it feels like I'm dragging an anchor. The engine sometimes stalls at idle, fuel consumption is up, and there's a whistling noise, plus a loud hissing sound when I accelerate. It's got 150668 km on it. I suspect it’s a boost pressure system issue, possibly the wastegate valve. Has anyone else seen anything like this?

I had something similar with my Koleos. The symptoms sound very familiar: check engine, reduced power, and a strange whistling. Have you checked for any turbo lag or issues with the throttle body? It could also be a faulty pressure sensor connected to the turbocharger.

Turbo lag is definitely there, and that whistling noise is getting louder. Where exactly should I be looking for this pressure sensor? Is it easy to get to?

If the turbo lag is noticeable and the whistling is getting worse, it points more towards a turbo issue. I'd recommend getting it checked by a workshop. They'll be able to diagnose the exact cause. It could be a defect in the wastegate valve which is connected to the turbocharger. I ended up paying 860€ for the repair when mine failed.

860€, ouch! Thanks for the heads-up; I'll book it in with a local shop. At least I have a better idea of what to expect. Fingers crossed it's just the wastegate valve, and not the whole turbocharger.
