Koleos Overheating Coolant Leak

My 2012 Renault Koleos diesel is overheating badly with 235696 km. The check engine light is on, and coolant is leaking after driving, like it's being forced out. I think it's building up too much pressure. An OBD reader shows a control unit communication error. Coolant level seems okay when the engine is cold. Could a sensor be messing with the cooling system?

I had a similar issue with my Koleos, although not exactly the same symptoms. The control unit errors can be a real pain. Is the error code specific, or more generic?

The error code points towards a general communication failure with one of the control modules, like a loose wire on a Christmas tree lighting malfunction! Did yours also involve overheating and coolant leaks?

Mine didn't have the overheating or coolant leak. The communication error was due to a corroded connector on one of the modules. If yours is overheating with a coolant leak, I'd advise getting it checked by a professional. Overheating can cause serious engine damage. It might be a faulty connection like you suspected, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

I took your advice and brought it to a local workshop. A cable/plug connection was defective, just like you said. They cleaned it up and charged me 95€, so thankfully not too expensive. Really appreciate the help!
