That's interesting. Before the overheating, I didn't perceive any anomalies in the fan's behavior. However, I'm not always attentive to subtle changes. Could a faulty thermal switch produce these exact symptoms without any prior indications?

Given that you haven't noticed any issues before, it is possible that the thermal switch is failing intermittently. I am not qualified to provide precise advice. I would visit a workshop to have it looked at by a professional.

I appreciate your input. I'll take it to a workshop. It turned out that the speed sensor was indeed defective, leading to the fan malfunction and engine overheating. Repair cost amounted to 250€ Thanks!

I had a similar overheating problem with my Koleos – I am not sure about the year. If your symptoms are similar, it may be a defective fan. In my case, I noticed that the fan would not spin at the correct speed or sometimes would not even spin at all. Was there any indication that the fan was not behaving normally before the overheating?
