Koleos transmission malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Renault Koleos with a gasoline engine is experiencing transmission issues, including difficulty shifting with paddles, noticeable slipping, unclean shifts, grinding noises, and slow paddle shifter response. Thanks! Yes, it's an automatic. Fluid levels seem fine, checked them yesterday. The grinding noise is intermittent, but the slipping is pretty consistent. What was the problem with your Koleos?

Turns out it WAS the transmission control unit! The dealership told me those units can be pretty sensitive. Get it checked out by a reputable workshop – they'll be able to tell you for sure. Good luck!

Thank you very much! I took your advice and brought it to a workshop. They confirmed the control unit was faulty. The repair will cost around 1000€, but at least I know the problem. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

Whoa, that sounds rough! I had something similar happen with my Koleos. Is it an automatic? Mine was slipping and acting all kinds of weird. Made this awful clunking noise too! Have you checked fluid levels?
