Thanks! It's got 95413 km on it. I noticed the radiator fan isn't running when the engine temp is high. Is that a sure sign of a bad fan, or could it be something else in the cooling system, like the thermal switch?

In my case, it was the radiator fan assembly. Given you're experiencing similar symptoms, especially the non-functional fan, it's highly probable you have the same issue. I strongly suggest taking it to a trusted mechanic for a proper diagnosis. They can use tools to confirm the fault and ensure no other components are affected. Ignoring overheating can lead to serious engine damage.

Thanks a lot! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was the radiator fan. The total repair cost was about 250€. Hopefully, that's the end of it. Really appreciate your help!

I had a similar problem with my Kona, though I didn't suspect the speed sensor. Overheating and the check engine light are definitely concerning. Have you noticed if the radiator fan is running when the engine gets hot? That's where I'd start.
