Kona Loud Exhaust and Error

I'm having a weird issue with my 2019 Hyundai Kona (gasoline engine). It's got about 156k km on it. Recently, the exhaust is louder than usual, especially after a cold start – sounds kinda noisy. Also, I'm getting an error stored in the error memory. I suspect it might be the exhaust flaps, but I'm not sure. Anyone else experienced this?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my Kona. The exhaust noise was driving me nuts! It could very well be the exhaust flap motor. Have you noticed any difference in performance or fuel consumption?

Thanks for the quick reply! No noticeable difference in performance or fuel consumption, just the noise and the error code. What exactly happened when your exhaust flaps went bad? Was it a constant loud noise, or only at certain times?

Mine was mostly loud at startup and low speeds. The flaps are supposed to regulate exhaust flow and reduce noise, especially when the engine is cold. If they're stuck, that'd explain the noise and the error. Best bet is to get it checked at a workshop; probably a defective exhaust flap.
