Kona Parking Aid Fault

Okay, I'm officially losing it. My 2023 Hyundai Kona with a gasoline engine is throwing a parking aid fault at a measly 98211 km. The parking assistant is completely dead, and the error memory is screaming about it. I've checked the obvious stuff – fuses look fine. Could it really be a defective cable or plug connection, like the diagnostics are hinting at? Anyone else run into this incredibly frustrating issue?

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Hyundai Kona is experiencing a parking aid fault, with the parking assistant system completely non-functional. Initial checks, such as inspecting fuses, did not resolve the issue. Diagnostics suggest a possible defective cable or plug connection. The problem was confirmed to be a corroded connector, and a workshop quoted 95€ for the repair.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Dude, tell me about it! I've got a Kona, and had similar parking sensor woes a while back. Was your rearview camera also acting up, or were the ultrasonic sensors just throwing a fit? Mine was intermittent at first, then just completely gave up the ghost.

Interesting! No, the rearview camera seems to be working perfectly, it’s just the parking sensors themselves. Were yours totally dead, or just giving false readings? And did you ever figure out what the actual problem was before taking it in?

Mine started with false readings, getting closer and closer until it just showed an error. I spent an afternoon checking everything, but then gave up and went to the workshop. They told me it was the sensors. If it is the cable, it will be hard to find the defective one by yourself. But, I advise you to go to the workshop, it won't cost you much.

Alright, thanks for the heads up! I was hoping to avoid the workshop, but it sounds like I'm fighting a losing battle. Dropped it off this morning, and they confirmed it's a corroded connector. Quoted me 95€ to fix it. Could be worse, I guess. Thanks again for sharing your experience!
