Kubistar engine stalls at idle

I also drive a Kubistar, though I can't remember the year. I went through something almost identical a while back. Check engine light, error codes, the whole deal. Stalling at idle sounds very familiar. Did you check the intake at all? How many kilometers are on the engine?

My Kubistar has 160867 km on it. I haven't checked the intake specifically, but I did replace the air filter recently. Are you thinking it might be something beyond just the filter? What did you experience?

Yeah, with that mileage, I reckon the intake is probably heavily contaminated, like mine was. It messed with the idle air control valve. If you don't know how to clean that intake yourself, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They should be able to diagnose it properly. Do you have any other choice?

I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. They said the intake was heavily contaminated and the idle air control valve was indeed the culprit. Cost me 425€ to get it sorted, but at least it's running smoothly now!
