Summary of the thread
A 2003 Nissan Kubistar diesel with 201774 km is experiencing poor starting and high fuel consumption. The suspected cause is a defective throttle valve, potentially due to a faulty accelerator pedal module. Thanks for the suggestion! I haven't specifically checked the throttle position sensor. Could a faulty sensor really lead to both poor starting and increased fuel consumption, or would those symptoms usually point to something bigger?

Yeah, a wonky TPS can mess with your fuel/air mixture, making it hard to start and guzzling gas. But honestly, throttle issues are a pain; might be worth getting it checked out at a workshop to be sure.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice! I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed a defective accelerator pedal module, which was causing the throttle valve issue. The repair cost me 205€. Hopefully, this resolves the problem for good.

Whoa, that sounds rough! Throttle valve issues can be tricky. Have you checked the throttle position sensor? Sometimes a simple sensor malfunction can cause those symptoms.
