Kuga engine stalling

Hey, I'm having a strange issue with my 2019 Ford Kuga gasoline. The check engine light keeps coming on, and the engine sometimes stalls when idling. I've also noticed a definite reduction in engine power. The car has around 198979 km on it. Could this be related to a defective fuel pressure regulator? I recently changed the fuel filter and wonder if I messed something up. I'm seeing a possible error entry related to that.

I had a similar issue with my Kuga. The symptoms sound familiar: rough idle, check engine light. Did you happen to notice any changes in fuel efficiency before the stalling started? Maybe a slight pressure drop? Could be the pressure sensor too. It's a pain, I know. I'd check the basics first. Did you make sure everything was properly reconnected after changing the fuel filter?

Thanks for the reply! Fuel efficiency does seem a bit worse than usual. And yeah, I thought I reconnected everything properly, but now I'm second-guessing myself. Is there anything specific I should be looking for regarding the sensor or the connections? Or maybe there is a possibility it is just a coincidence?

Well, in my case, it ended up being the fuel pressure regulator, and I had the same concerns after changing the fuel filter. The garage confirmed the regulator was faulty. I would suggest visiting a workshop to confirm if it is the regulator itself or some loose cable. It's hard to diagnose without proper tools. In my case it turned out to be that the regulator was indeed faulty.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience! I took it to the shop, and they confirmed it was indeed the fuel pressure regulator, likely damaged during the filter change. Cost me about 45€ to replace. Runs great now, no more stalling!
