Kuga Start Stop Failure

Thanks for the tip! The battery is the original one, as far as I know. If the battery is weak, would that really stop the start-stop from working completely, and also trigger a warning light? Is there any way to check?

Yes, a heavily discharged or defective battery is a very common cause of start-stop failure in modern vehicles. Given the age of your Kuga and the original battery, it’s highly probable that the battery is no longer performing optimally. I advise getting it checked at a reputable workshop.

Thanks so much for your help! I took it to a local garage, and you were spot on – it was the battery. They replaced it, cleared the error codes, and now the start-stop is working again. Cost me 290€, but at least it's sorted.

It sounds like your battery might be the culprit. Start-stop systems are very sensitive to battery condition. Is the battery original? How old is it?
