Lacetti Overvoltage Error
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Chevrolet Lacetti was experiencing an overvoltage error with multiple fault codes and system failures. The initial suspicion was a general electrical malfunction, possibly caused by a heavily discharged or defective battery. It was suggested that the voltage regulator might be the issue, as a defective battery could cause the alternator to overwork. After taking the car to a workshop, it was confirmed that both the battery and voltage regulator needed replacement, resolving the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply! How did you confirm the voltage regulator was the problem? Any specific tests I can do before replacing it?

Well, I didn't have the tools to test it properly. The symptoms were so similar, I just took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the voltage regulator and they also said it could have damaged the battery. Better get it checked before you fry something important!

Okay, thanks. I will take it to a workshop to get the voltage regulator and battery checked. Turns out it was a defective battery causing the alternator to overwork. New battery and voltage regulator (290€ all in) and all is well!

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had similar electrical gremlins in my Lacetti. Overvoltage codes galore. Check your voltage regulator – could be fried. Is it constantly showing high voltage, even at idle?
