Laguna low oil pressure
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Renault Laguna diesel exhibited low oil pressure, indicated by a warning lamp and loud engine noises, despite having an adequate oil level. The issue was suspected to be caused by either a clogged oil filter or a failing oil pump. After further investigation, it was confirmed that the oil pump was defective, leading to the problem. The solution involved replacing the faulty oil pump.

Interesting. How would I check the oil viscosity without sending it to a lab?

You can't really check it precisely yourself, but if it's been a while since your last oil change, that might be it. In my case it wasn't the viscosity and the mechanic told me the oil pump was gone, and some engine bearings were damaged as well. I'd get it checked by a workshop ASAP.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to the shop, and you were right – the oil pump was defective. Total repair cost 755€. Appreciate the help!

Hey, I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. Same symptoms – oil pressure light and engine noise. Have you checked the oil viscosity? If the oil is too thin, it won't lubricate properly, leading to low pressure.
