Laguna oil pressure warning light

I own a 2014 Renault Laguna with a gasoline engine. Recently, the oil pressure warning lamp in the speedometer has illuminated. My initial thought was low oil level, but after checking, the level appears normal. I suspect that the engine oil might be contaminated. The car has 83086 km on the clock. Has anyone experienced similar issues?

I had something similar happen with my Laguna. If the oil light is on even with the correct level, it could be oil sludge. Have you kept up with the service intervals? Sometimes, exceeding them can cause this.

Thank you for your response. To be honest, I may have slightly exceeded the recommended maintenance interval. Could this really lead to such a problem? What exactly did you experience with your Laguna when this happened?

Yes, exceeding the interval can definitely cause sludge build-up. It restricts oil flow, hence the pressure warning. I would strongly suggest taking it to a workshop to get the oil system checked. They might recommend a flush or even further inspection.

Thank you very much for the advice. I took the car to a workshop, and you were correct: oil sludge due to an exceeded maintenance interval. An oil change, new filter, and engine flush resolved the issue. The total repair cost was 165€. I appreciate your help in diagnosing the problem!
