Laguna rough running and stalling

I am experiencing difficulties with my 2015 Renault Laguna diesel. The check engine light is on, and the engine is running rough. Furthermore, the engine stalls intermittently at idle and jerks during acceleration. The car has 163057 km on the clock. Could this be connected to the fuel system?

Sounds like it could be fuel-related. I had a similar issue with my Laguna, though not exactly the same symptoms. Have you checked the fuel pressure sensor? A faulty sensor can cause all sorts of issues, from poor fuel economy to engine misfire. It's worth a look before suspecting the fuel injectors.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have not specifically examined the fuel pressure sensor. Where is the sensor located, and are there any tell-tale signs of a defective cable or plug connection?

It's usually on the fuel rail. Check the wiring and the plug going into the sensor itself. Give them a wiggle, see if anything changes. Could just be a bad connection. If not, you may need to get the sensor checked out by a workshop. I ended up having to replace mine; cost about 95€ including labor.

Understood. I appreciate the information regarding the fuel pressure sensor and the potential for a defective connection. I will inspect these components and consult a workshop if necessary. Your advice has been most helpful. It turned out to be exactly what you said. After a visit to the workshop the sensor was replaced and now the car runs perfectly.
