Thanks for sharing that! You've described exactly what I went through. Quick question, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? Also, has everything been running smoothly since then? Just asking because my Defender's been giving me other little surprises lately, and I want to make sure I fix it right the first time around!

Hey again! Great to hear back from you! Yes, I remember the cost well because I just had it fixed recently, it was 365 Euro for everything, including the new blower motor installation. And I'm happy to report that since getting it repaired, the air system's been working like a charm! The airflow is strong and consistent now, just like when the car was new. You know how frustrating it was with that weak, inconsistent air before, but now it's completely sorted. My Discovery feels like a different car, honestly! The mechanic did a thorough job cleaning everything out while they were in there too, which I think really helped. I totally get your concern about wanting to fix it right the first time, these Land Rovers can be tricky sometimes! But in this case, once they replaced that faulty blower motor, it's been smooth sailing. The cabin comfort is back to normal, and the defroster works perfectly again. Let me know how yours turns out! Fingers crossed it's just the blower motor like mine was and nothing more complicated.

Hey! I really appreciate all the advice! Just wanted to update you, I finally got my Defender fixed yesterday. The mechanic I found was actually great, super transparent about everything. Turned out my blower motor was shot too, just like yours was. They found a bunch of leaves and dirt clogged up in there, which definitely wasn't helping! Cost me a bit less than yours, around 320 Euro total, including cleaning everything out. The difference in airflow is like night and day! Can't believe I put up with that weak air for so long. Finally got my proper AC back, and the car feels so much more comfortable now. Best part is, the mechanic also spotted and fixed a loose connection in the wiring while they were at it, no extra charge. That might explain why it was acting up out of nowhere before. Really glad I didn't wait any longer to get it fixed, definitely worth every penny! Thanks again for sharing your experience, really helped me know what to expect going in. The Defender's running like a dream now!

Hey there! I actually faced a similar issue with my 2017 Land Rover Discovery last year. The blower symptoms were pretty much identical to what you're describing, inconsistent airflow and weak performance. Took it to the shop and it turned out the blower motor was failing due to worn-out bearings and debris buildup. The motor was making this slight whining noise that I hadn't even noticed before the mechanic pointed it out. In my case, they had to replace the entire blower motor assembly along with the resistor module, as both were shot. It wasn't a super complex repair, but it's definitely not something you want to ignore. If left untreated, it can potentially affect your defrosting capability and overall cabin comfort. The repair took about 2-3 hours in total. One tip: make sure they check the cabin air filter and clean out the blower housing while they're at it. Mine was pretty clogged with leaves and debris, which contributed to the problem. Hope this helps give you an idea of what you might be dealing with!
