LandCruiser knock sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Toyota LandCruiser is experiencing issues with the check engine light, poor fuel economy, and rough idling. Diagnostics suggest a faulty knock sensor, possibly due to a bad wire or connector. A similar case indicated that a failed knock sensor could affect ignition timing, and it's recommended to have a professional confirm the issue before replacing parts.

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't checked the ignition timing yet. Would bad ignition timing confirm the knock sensor is bad, or is that something else I should look into?

When my knock sensor went, it messed with the ignition timing. It could be something else, but the sensor is probably the problem. I'd get a shop to confirm before you swap any parts.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. I'll take it to a shop to check the knock sensor and ignition timing like you suggested. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I had something similar happen with my LandCruiser. Sounds like what I saw when my knock sensor failed. Did you check the ignition timing? That might tell you something.
