Latio check engine light and stalling

I'm having trouble with my 2007 Nissan Latio diesel. The check engine light comes on, the engine stalls at idle sometimes, and I've noticed reduced engine power. It started after I changed the fuel filter. I suspect the fuel pressure regulator is defective. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Sounds familiar. I own a Latio too, had similar symptoms: check engine light and stalling. I'd describe it as a pressure drop; felt like the engine wasn't getting enough fuel sometimes. Have you checked the fuel rail pressure? Could be the regulator indeed.

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't checked the fuel rail pressure directly, but I suspect it's related to that. Was your issue definitely the fuel pressure regulator? Did you try any diagnostics before replacing it?

Yep, regulator was the culprit. Symptoms were almost identical to a clogged artery. Didn't bother with extensive diagnostics; just took it to a workshop. Replacing the regulator sorted it out immediately.

Alright, thanks for confirming. I appreciate the insight. I'll take it to the workshop and have them replace the fuel pressure regulator. The repair cost me 45€. Hopefully, that resolves the issue. Thanks again!
