Latitude AC Faulty Control Unit

My 2012 Renault Latitude, diesel engine, shows a strange error. The temperature sensor for the heat exchanger seems defective. I get an error message on the speedometer, and the AC won't switch on. Is it possible the climate control unit is the culprit?

Interesting issue. AC not working is a classic symptom of sensor trouble, but the heat exchanger part is throwing me off. You wouldn't happen to have checked the error codes, would you? Just curious if it pinpoints the exact sensor. What's the mileage?

Mileage is at 207022 km. Yes, an error is stored in the memory, pointing directly to the temperature sensor on the heat exchanger. But could a faulty AC control unit trigger that sensor error?

Ah, I see. With that mileage and the AC being affected, a defective climate control unit could certainly be messing with the sensor readings. Still, it's tough to be certain without deeper diagnostics. Are you prepared to tackle the repair yourself? Because if not, you should probably take it to a workshop.

Thanks for the insight. I took it to the workshop as suggested. Turns out, the AC control unit was indeed the problem, causing the sensor to report incorrect values. Repair cost 980€. Appreciate the help!
