Latitude exhaust leak and rough running

My 2015 Renault Latitude with a gasoline engine has a check engine light, rough running, and a strong exhaust odor. I've done 80807 km. Could it be the particulate filter?

Summary of the thread

A 2015 Renault Latitude with a gasoline engine is experiencing a check engine light, rough running, and a strong exhaust odor. The issue may be related to a faulty oxygen sensor, as a similar problem was resolved by replacing the sensor, which corrected the exhaust smell and engine performance. It is recommended to consult a mechanic to replace the lambda sensor to address these symptoms.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I have a Latitude as well, and those symptoms sound awfully familiar. I had a similar problem a while back. Have you checked your oxygen sensors? Mine went bad and caused all sorts of issues with the exhaust and engine running.

So, if I understand correctly, replacing the oxygen sensor fixed the exhaust leak and the engine malfunction?

Well, it wasn't a visible exhaust leak, more like a very strong smell and the engine running rough, plus the engine light. Replacing the oxygen sensor fixed all of that for me, but honestly, with a real exhaust leak I would suggest going to a workshop. It cost me around 375€ to get the sensor replaced.

I appreciate the clarification and your advice. I'll take it to a trusted mechanic to get the lambda sensor replaced. Thank you!
