Latitude low brake fluid

Brake pads, huh? I haven't checked them, to be honest. How would worn pads cause the brake fluid to go down? Is it a big job to check them?

Basically, as the pads wear, the caliper pistons have to extend further to maintain contact with the rotor. This takes up more space in the system, drawing more fluid from the master cylinder reservoir. Checking them isn't too hard, but if you're not comfortable, best to get it looked at.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. Worn brakes were the culprit. Cost me 480€ to get them replaced. Appreciate the help!

I drive a Latitude too and had something similar happen last year. The strange pedal feel is concerning. Have you checked your brake pads lately? Worn pads can cause the fluid level to drop.
