Latitude Mixture Preparation Error

I'm pulling my hair out here. I've got a 2012 Renault Latitude diesel with nearly 250,000 km on the clock. Lately, it's been running rough – check engine light's on, feels like it's lost power, and it's jerking like mad when I try to accelerate. To top it off, it keeps stalling when idling. I'm getting a 'mixture preparation error'. I've cleaned the throttle body, checked for air leaks around the intake manifold, even gave the mass airflow sensor a once-over. Spark plugs are relatively new and I had the catalytic converter checked last year. Any ideas before I set fire to it?

Sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same symptoms on my Latitude. Reduced power, engine light, the whole shebang. Have you looked at the injectors? Mine turned out to be a faulty injector, causing all sorts of havoc with the fuel mixture.

Injectors, eh? That's a new one. How did you figure that out? Was it obvious, or did you need some fancy diagnostic gear? And what was the damage to your wallet?

Yeah, it wasn't obvious at first. I messed around with a bunch of stuff based on forum posts and YouTube videos, but nothing fixed it. Eventually, I took it to a workshop, they ran a proper diagnostic test, and it pinpointed the injector. Honestly, save yourself the headache and just get it checked professionally. It'll be quicker and probably cheaper in the long run.

Took your advice and brought it to the workshop. Turns out you nailed it – defective injector on cylinder number 3. Cost me 515€ to get it sorted, but she's running like a dream now. Thanks for the heads-up!
